Stuffed Sandwich

San Gabriel isn't exactly around the corner, it is a pretty long way for me to go for lunch, especially for a sandwich. I had high hopes for the Stuffed Sandwich. I figured if someone called themselves stuffed the sandwich did one of two things:

1. The sandwich makings would be stuffed in a roll or pita that is not totally separated
2. The sandwich is chock full of fixings

I was disappointed upon arrival that there was no such scenario number one available. The long list of sandwiches was difficult for me to decide and the lady at the counter was just waiting. The sandwiches weren't inventive, so I hoped for quality ingredients. I decided on the salami sandwich with spicy mustard (they just mean brown mustard), lettuce and tomato.

The salami was delicious, it was mildly thick which gave it an excellent texture. The bread was also delicious and fresh. It is amazing how freshness can really change a roll. The toppings of the sandwich were lacking. The sandwich would have been great with something more, pickles maybe? Or seasoned tomatoes? Or something different?

The other people with us got the bbq pork sandwich (the bbq sauce was more like marinara sauce), ham (the ham was a little odd tasting), and roast beef (this was a large, and it was GIGANTIC, and apparently delicious.

The restaurant has a gigantic selection of beer and I think the restaurateurs were surprised when only one person in our party ordered beer. The inside of the restaurant was dark like a bar crossing a church basement. There was a patio that I would have preferred to sit on, but unfortunately, there were people smoking outside. Now that they don't allow smoking inside, I sometimes feel like I can't eat outside because I don't particularly like the tobacco/food taste.

I'd go back to Stuffed Sandwich, if I was in the area, and I was with something that didn't like Asian food.

LOS TACOS---The world's greatest soft tacos

Living in Burbank I knew at some point I might stumble upon the "world's greatest " something but little was I aware that the "world's greatest soft tacos" lurked just a few miles from my home in the great city of San Gabriel, California.

Having the world's greatest tennis legs, I naturally am qualified at judging a world's best . For instance, I also have the world's greatest penmanship, and probably the world's greatest collection of navel lint ( I haven't yet checked my counterpart in southeast Asia). All that being said I set upon a journey to the great city of San Gabriel to partake in the greatest soft tacos in the world. My expectations were modest, I would have settled for the greatest soft taco in the Western Hemisphere or even the greatest soft taco in North America (even the 6th best burrito in the San Gabriel Valley would have filled the bill). As we entered the parking lot at Los Tacos- the world's greatest soft tacos- we noticed that there we no other cars in the parking lot. My first thought was that perhaps all those satisfied customers were at home barely able to move from overeating on the 3rd best huevos rancheros during this mornings' breakfast visit. I ordered the 4 taco plate with 2 machaca, one asada and one al pastor. Unbelievably, $5.75 was going to get me 4 of the world's greatest soft tacos! I waited fidgiting like a 10 year old at the gates of Disneyland, I was about to have the worlds greatest soft taco............

Los Tacos ----"The world's greatest soft tacos" is located in San Gabriel at the corner of Santa Anita and Las Tunas.
