Louks

Occasionally I like to check out Truck Alley for lunch for something different. This is almost the same as saying something unhealthy because, even when healthy choices are there, I always seem to be drawn to the most unhealthy of the bunch.

Louk's is a Greek truck. It has your favorite gyros-with a twist of french fries rolled up inside, french fries served several ways, and fried dough among other things.

I ordered the Gyro not realizing it was filled with fries and then fries. I felt like a pig. The fries I ordered were doused in honey and feta. The thing about fries doused in honey and feta is that they are absolutely delicious but they aren't at all that salt quencher you were looking for. They are sweet and gooey and delicious but not salty. The gyro was tasty but just not perfect. I missed the cucumbers that usually are in there and I didn't like the added french fries inside.

My friend ordered the tahziki sauce fries and those were also delicious but had more of a salty flavor which I missed from mine. She also got the fried dough for dessert. The fired dough was like being at your favorite carnival. It was rich and delicious and best when warm (so leave it in the sun while you eat).

I would consider eating at Louks again but I wouldn't seek it out.
