Mo's Restaurant

Sometimes, the same old gets a little too old. So a group of my friends decided to try out something new for dinner last week and we went to Mo's Restaurant--a dark building right across the street from the star of the street Bob's Big Boy.

Mo's has an extensive menu ranging from appetizers and salads to burgers to steaks. The variety of burgers is outstanding. There are some normal cheeseburgers and bacon burgers, and then there are weird ones like a burger topped with plum jam and peanut butter. We didn't try any of the weird ones--but it sure was tempting. There's always next time. The menu also has a large drink list. The restaurant is a not as dark inside as it looks from the outside. It is 2 large rooms separated by a bar. The booths are huge and the lighting is slightly dark, with candles on every table.

I ordered a chicken sandwich. When your food is ready, instead of bringing it to your table (this is if you get a sandwich only), they come pick you up and you go to Mo's Famous Burger Bar. Not unlike Fudrucker's condiment bar, the burger bar has a large range of toppings and dressings for your sandwich or burger. Plus, you can take as much potato salad, pasta salad or coleslaw as you want. However, you only get to go to the bar once, so be sure to get all you need before returning to your seat. Besides the burger bar, the food comes a la carte, so if you really want a burger AND fries you're at the wrong place. An order of fries on the side will run you an extra $4.

One of the other diners in my party ordered a burger and it looked pretty good--your average gourmet burger. It was a little smaller than expected, but plenty of food with the addition of the burger bar. The other person ordered the tomato and basil pizza. In the candlelight the pizza looked a little pale to me, but he said it tasted pretty good.

Since we all ordered a variety of dishes and they were all good, I would definitely return to Mo's in the near future. The large menu is perfect for a big group with varying tastes. Further, when we arrived we were seated immediately so you likely won't run into a large wait. There is plenty of parking in the lot in the back too. My only complaint is that is a little pricey for what you get for SOME entrees--especially if you don't like any of the "extras" in the burger bar. My sandwich was huge and I had lots of potato salad with it, but the person that got the burger didn't get quite as much for the buck.
