Dish

Dish Restaurant always has ads in the local coupon books. It is basically your average American restaurant with a little flair added to each dish. We went for a family birthday party with a group with varied pallets. Our party of six was seated immediately on a Saturday evening. The dining area is a mis-match of furniture that gives it a homey feel.

The menu has lots of options and many of them looked good. I was really leaning toward the burger, but then I decided to go for the pork chop with spicy apple chutney. I also ordered the side of mac & cheese as an appetizer. I didn't really love either thing I ordered. The apple chutney really was spicy, so much so that it really wasn't flavorful and the pork chop was nothing special. The Mac & Cheese that boasted 5 cheeses tasted a lot more like swiss than anything else but it was warm and contenting--just not my favorite kind.

The burgers our table ordered seemed like both the best deal and the best flavor. The Gumbo was not dinner sized and didn't come with anything to help make it filling except the expectation that it would be a full entrée. The waitress was very clear about which dishes not to order when asked. The lemon & caper chicken dish was regarded much more highly than the pasta with summer vegetables.

I was sad not to try the desserts, but perhaps next time I will go back for a burger and give the place another shot. Not special enough to drive for it--but a good place for a quick dinner if you're looking for a quality burger.
