Gina's Tacos

Tacos fit the bill for lunch this fine Saturday afternoon. It was a nice enough day for a new adventure so we set out to Gina's Tacos in Glendale. We have passed this place a number of times and there always seem to be people there so we thought we'd give it a shot.

This is a small stand with just three tables and a bench facing the buys street. Most people were getting their tacos to go but we decided to stay. My husband and I got 5 tacos between us and the Carne Asada Quesadilla. Our other lunch guest got 4 tacos and then later went back for the Quesadilla.

I had all three carne asada tacos. The meat had a nice smoky flavor and was mixed well with the red salsa, cilantro and onions. The tortillas were fresh tasting with a bit more corn hint than usual. I had a bite of the carne asada quesadilla and it was delicious. I loved the melty cheese that was a little bit richer than the meat. The quesadilla comes with salsa, meat and cheese in it and it is a nice change from the same old thing.

I also sampled the al pastor meat and I liked the flavor being not too sweet like others I've had and no noticeable large strands of onion either.

Gina's has good tacos and great prices if you are in the area and just want something simple and quick.
