Joselitos is a little Mexican restaurant right in the heart of downtown Montrose. It was relatively crowded but with no wait when we got there. We were seated in a too-small curved wall booth, so we moved over to a regular booth and nobody seemed to notice.
They brought never-ending chips to the table while we were waiting. The salsa was spicy and wet and slipped right off the chip all over the table. After too many glasses of water our waiter returned and we ordered. I ordered the chili verde. Other orders at our table included the fish tacos, big taco, and chili colorado burrito.
It took kind of long for our food to come. My tortillas came pretty early before my actual food, but they didn't get cold so that was nice. The chili verde mixed together with the rice and beans. I thought it was ok, but it needed something else to go with it--like salsa maybe or even salt. The meat was pretty tender. I ended up only being able to eat half of it. Taking it home was a mistake though because it looked like someone lost their lunch when it was all poured together in the takeaway box.
Everyone else seemed to like their meals, but the food was only fair, nothing particularly outstanding compared to other similar restaurants. They do have a lot of special offers like Kids Eat Free on Sundays and Brunch, so maybe that's the way to go when you want to try out Joselitos.
